Knit Fabric Style 1708 is a layer of fabric stitched to a layer of chopped strand mat. Since it is stitched instead of held together with a styrene binder, it is compatible with epoxy resin. Knit Fabric 1708 adds strength to parts and is common in the boat building industry. It wets out fast and has no crimping. It has equal amounts of continuous fiber oriented in the +45° and -45° directions.
